A front view of 40156 17/03/74. Someone seems to have been messing about with the head code.
It is interesting to note that the 16t minerals MCO/MCV wagons in abundance on the down stagings. MGR
workings were just around the corner. Also, just around the corner, in just over a year a certain school lad
who took this photo would be on duty in the new HM TOPS office.
40156 Has the longest single allocation of the 40s. It came from the Manchester Division (D09) in November
1966 and stayed the rest of its life at Healey Mills until withdrawn in July 1980.
Total time allocated to Healey Mills - 13 years, 8 months.
